Hubungan Umur dan Masa Kerja dengan Kelelahan Kerja Pada Petugas Pemadam Kebakaran di Lingkungan Dinas Satuan Polisi Pamong Praja dan Pemadam Kebakaran Kotamobagu

Abstract

Background: Jobs that have a high risk are firefighting and result in work accidents, including when at the location of a fire that occurs due to electricity, hot temperatures, fire, working at heights, explosions, sharp objects, or physical fights with residents. The health complaints felt by residents at the fire location were generally due to residents inhaling a lot of smoke which resulted in shortness of breath, coughing, dizziness, nausea, vomiting and even fainting.

Objective: Analyzing the relationship between age and length of service with work fatigue among firefighters in the Kotamobagu Civil Service Police Unit and Fire Department.

Method: The type of research used is quantitative research using analytical observational methods and a cross sectional study research design. The sample size in this study consisted of 20 people and the sampling technique was total sampling. Data were analyzed using the chi square test.

Results: Shows that length of service (p-value = 0.004) is related to work fatigue among firefighters in the Kotamobagu Civil Service Police and Fire Department Service Environment.

Conclusion: There is a relationship between length of service and work fatigue in firefighters. Efforts are needed to reduce work fatigue among firefighters, namely by providing adequate rest time and dividing tasks according to the age and length of service of the officers. This is expected to reduce fatigue experienced by officers.
