Hubungan Pengetahuan dan Kenyamanan dengan Penggunaan APD pada Pekerja Proyek Kontruksi di Wilayah Dinas Pekerjaan Umum dan Tata Ruang Kabupaten Bolaang Mongondow Timur

Abstract

Background: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a set of tools used by workers to protect all or part of their bodies from potential hazards or workplace accidents. The lower the frequency of PPE usage, the greater the chance of workplace accidents.

Objective: Analyzing the relationship between knowledge and comfort with the use of PPE among construction project workers in the East Bolaang Mongondow Regency Public Works and Spatial Planning Service area.

Methods: This is an observational analytical study using a cross-sectional design. The research was conducted on three projects of the East Bolaang Mongondow Public Works and Spatial Planning Office in the villages of Togid and Tutuyan, with a total population of 36 construction workers. The sample consisted of 36 workers, and total sampling was used as the sampling technique. The data analysis was performed using the chi-square test.

Results:.This research shows that there is a relationship between comfort and the use of PPE among construction project workers in the Public Works and Spatial Planning Department of East Bolaang Mongondow Regency with a p value = 0.003.

Conclusion: There is a relationship between comfort and the use of PPE for construction project workers in the East Bolaang Mongondow Regency Public Works and Spatial Planning Service area. It is hoped that project supervisors will further tighten regulations regarding SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) regarding the use of PPE, the aim of which is to prevent unwanted work accidents from occurring.
