Analisis Sistem Emergency Response and Preparedness Pada PT. X Plant Kanci Kabupaten Cirebon

Abstract

Background: An emergency is an unexpected event that causes accidents and sometimes deaths that risk
workers, consumers, and the community. The entrepreneur needs to implement Occupational safety and
health planning in recovering emergencies activities. Therefore, an effort is needed to prevent and prepare
for an emergency, such as planning and controlling for emergencies. This study aims to determine the
emergency response and preparedness system at PT. X Plant Kanci
Method: This study was categorized as qualitative descriptive research. The sampling technique used was
purposive sampling. The sample of informants consisted of 1 HSE officer, 2 Emergency Team Coordinators.
The research instrument used was the NFPA 1600 self-assessment checklist sheet for emergency disaster
management and business continuity.Data collection techniques used semi-structured interviews and
observation.
Results: results used the NFPA 1600 self-assessment checklist sheet for emergency disaster management
and business continuity with a total of 239 elements. There are 200 (83%) elements following field
conditions and based on applicable regulations. However, 39 (16%) elements do not follow the field's
applicable rules.
Suggestion: The Company is expected to continuously conduct simulations or training on emergency
programs for Kanci Plant workers. Then, serving complete facilities for emergency programs such as
chemical handling tools, evacuation and rescue facilities, first aid facilities in accidents. Then, socialize the
procedures to workers, and it is expected they will understand what they will do when facing an emergency.
