Abstract
Background: The development of eco-tourism without effective management can harm environmental health
and the viability of the flora and fauna living in the ecotourism area. Insufficient optimization of mangrove
ecotourism management can be attributed to limited access and a lack of knowledge and awareness
regarding the management of mangrove ecotourism resources.
Objective: This research objectives is to determine the sanitary analysis of public spaces at Mangrove
Karangsong Ecotourism in Indramayu 2025.
Method: This research used a mixed method with an explanatory design. Data analysis was conducted
through a quantitative phase, a qualitative phase, and an integration of quantitative and qualitative data.
Results: The results showed that (1)Environmental conditions are not eligible with a precentage of 50% due
to marine debris, deteriorating infrastructure, financial constraints, and workforce limitations; (2)Sanitary
Facilities are eligible with a precentage of 72% attributed to the provision of clean water that meets physical
requirements, self-regulated wastewater management, and adequate waste disposal amenities;
(3)Supplementary facilities are not eligible with a precentage of 50% due to the unavailability of a medical
clinic and a fire extinguisher that is accessible.
Conclusion: The environmental conditions and supporting facilities at Karangsong Mangrove Ecotourism
fail to satisfy established tourism sanitation standards.
