Abstract
Background: Today's global concern is pulmonary tuberculosis (TB), a public health issue that results in
high rates of morbidity and mortality. After China and India, Indonesia has the third-highest prevalence of
pulmonary TB in the world. Knowledge, economic standing, and smoking habits are decisive variables in the
development of pulmonary tuberculosis. There were 52 instances of pulmonary tuberculosis in the UPTD
Working Area of the Modayag Community Health Center, East Bolaang Mongondow Regency, according to
findings from February 2023.
Objective: The goal of this study is to examine the association between socioeconomic level and the
prevalence of pulmonary tuberculosis in the Modayag Community Health Center's UPTD Working Area in
the East Bolaang Mongondow Regency.
Method: The case control study research design is used in this kind of analytical observational research.
There are 52 people who have pulmonary TB overall. The 52 people who had no pulmonary tuberculosis
comprised the control population. 104 persons made up the entire sample. Simple random sampling is the
sampling method. Chi-square analysis was done on the data.
Results: The results of this study are that there is a relationship between economic status factors and the
incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in the Modayag Community Health Center UPTD Working Area
(p=0.000).
Conclusion: In addition to carrying out preventive and promotive efforts to prevent pulmonary tuberculosis,
it is hoped that the East Bolaang Mongondow Health Service and all Community Health Centers throughout
East Bolaang Mongondow regularly carry out early detection of pulmonary tuberculosis problems. In
addition, the government is working to raise the community's economic standing.
