Abstract

Background: Pulmonary TB is an infectious disease caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The discovery rate for pulmonary TB sufferers (CDR) in the city of Makassar has a CDR of 69%. The source of discovery of pulmonary TB sufferers in the city of Makasar was only 59% found in the Community Health Center.

Objective: To analyze factors related to the discovery of pulmonary TB sufferers in the Makassar City Health Center.

Method: This type of research is analytical observational research using a cross sectional research design. The population in this study was pulmonary TB administrators and laboratory/microscopy personnel in all Makassar City Health Centers with a total sample of 72 respondents. The sampling technique uses total sampling. Research data analysis was carried out using the chi square test.

Results: Variables related to the discovery of pulmonary TB sufferers in Makassar City Community Health Centers were officer motivation (p value= 0.000), officer training (p value= 0.000), and laboratory facilities (p value= 0.015), while variables that were not related were officer incentives ( p value = 0.096) and officer knowledge (p value = 0.091).

Conclusion: Based on the results of the research, it is recommended that officers should take part in any training related to pulmonary TB organized by the health office to broaden their knowledge and increase their motivation, and officers at community health centers should pay more attention and increase the completeness of laboratory facilities so that they can expedite the process of examining TB suspects. Lungs. It is necessary to monitor and evaluate the results of activities at the community health center every quarter and every year a TB program report must be fed back to the community health center so that each officer can know the results of their performance.
