Determinan Kejadian Kecelakaan Kerja Pada Nelayan di Kecamatan Bolaang

Abstract

Background: Work accidents are unexpected or unforeseen incidents that occur in the workplace. Working as a fisherman can also pose a risk of work accidents because this occupation has 3D job characteristics, including dangerous, dirty, and difficult. According to the preliminary survey, there were 10 fishermen in the Bolaang District have experienced frequent work accidents.

Objective: to analyze the determinants of work accidents among fishermen in Bolaang District.

Method: It applied quantitative with the cross-sectional method. This study was conducted from February to March 2023,including a sample of 63 fishermen in the Bolaang District. Probability Sampling was used, and data were collected using a questionnaire. The data analysis used is the Chi-Square test.

Results:This research shows that level of education (p value=0.580), experience/year of work (p value= 0.021), operating time (p value 0.009), and fishing aids (p value 0.002) are related to the incidence of work accidents among fishermen in Bolaang District. It is hoped that the fisheries department will understand the level of education of fishermen and that work accidents will not occur among fishermen.
